The department received seven calls for service in the month of September. Personnel spent 118 hours training on topics such as grant writing, personnel protective equipment & SCBA, power equipment, pump operation, driver training, ropes & knots, ground ladders, extrication, and fire officer leadership skills. Training was done in house using department instructors, and outside taking advantage of DFS and FEMA resources.
Personnel spent 3 hours maintaining department equipment and facilities. Ten hours were spent delivering fire prevention programs. Seven inspections were conducted.
We welcomed three new firefighters aboard this month as well. Welcome to the department F/F’s Langevin, Quattrocelli, and Laird. This is a great step in the right direction, but we are always looking for new recruits.
The ambulance responded to 34 incidents.
